Air filter change – DIY tips for beginners?

Never changed an air filter myself but want to try on my 2019 Astra. Looks easy from YouTube, just clips and a box. Any common mistakes or tools needed? Also, where to get a reliable one without dealer prices?

Super beginner-friendly usually- just unclip the lid, lift old filter, clean box with vacuum or cloth (no water), drop new one in oriented right (pleats facing airflow), reseal tight. Common mistakes: forgetting to clean debris from box, installing backwards, or not seating the seal fully (causes unmetered air). Tools: screwdriver maybe, gloves. I did mine last month- grabbed a perfect-fit replacement from https://elartcom.eu/categories/air-filters-24 - they list by Opel/Vauxhall model with clear compatibility. Quality felt good, rubber seal compressed nicely, no rattles. Engine smoother after, probably from better airflow. Took 5 minutes. If you're unsure, their vehicle selector helps avoid wrong part- much cheaper and faster than garage markup.
