ALAA-ANZ EXPERIENCE

The ALAA-ANZ is the New Zealand branch of the Australasian Law Academics Association and is, therefore, the professional body for all legal academics in Aotearoa New Zealand. Like its parent organisation, ALAA-ANZ aims to provide a platform for law academics to network, collaborate, represent and share expertise. One opportunity to do so is by participating in symposiums and conferences. Here are a few recent examples.

2023 Australasian Law Academics Association Conference

The Australasian Law Academics Association Conference 2023 was held in Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand, in July 2023. The theme was Legal Pluralism in 2033. The conference and its 110 participants celebrated the variety of legal sources and influences and posed the question of how this legal pluralism will shape legal scholarship, systems, and teaching over the next decade. Find the program here.

2022 ALAA-ANZ SYMPOSIUM

The 2022 ALAA-ANZ Symposium was held at Auckland University of Technology, in July 2022.  We really appreciated everyone's contributions in making this symposium a success! It's been fantastic to reconnect with old friends and make new ones while sharing our work throughout the workshops and lightning talk sessions. Please find the program here.
